12/6/07: Houston Alexander to Bring "Culture Shock School Tour" to Qwest Center

UFC Fighter and Omaha native Houston Alexander joins the star-studded cast for an evening of tennis at the Qwest Center on December 14th. At halftime, Alexander will bring his "Culture Shock School Tour" onto the courts. The show teaches kids about the positive aspects of hip-hop and dancing, teaching kids to stay in school and away from drugs. Alexander recently joined the UFC and defeated highly ranked UFC veterans Keith Jardine and Allesio Sakara. He is also a father of six children and works nights as a radio DJ on Omaha's Power 106.9.

11/19/07: UNO Dance Team to Perform During Night of Tennis

This team of 14-18 dedicated and talented women represents the University of Nebraska at Omaha in positive and spirited ways. This past summer, the UNO Dance Team beat out other college teams at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS to win first place in the team dance competition. Furthermore, the team was named this year's Most Spirited Team! These young women also compete in the NDA College National Championship, placing seventh in the nation. Don't forget to watch for the UNO Dance Team in upcoming competitions and fundraisers.

11/6/07: Omaha Native, Zack Hexum, returns home to join Andy and Serena

Armed with a diverse musical background, Zack Hexum has always been able to deliver his songs in a fresh and interesting way. It helps, of course, that Hexum has a rich-textured voice that matches the depth of his songwriting abilities.

Influenced by the likes of Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Paul McCartney, Todd Rundgren, and Jeff Buckley, Hexum is accomplished on both guitar and saxophone, and has a way with words and with melodies that draw generously from those influences while maintaining his own unique voice.
